Update: S/West Governors, Ministers Visit Sanwo-Olu
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos on Sunday hosted South-West Governors and some Ministers who paid him a condolence visit.
The governors and Ministers visited Sanwo-Olu following the looting and arsons of public properties and institutions last week by suspected hoodlums.
Prior to that, soldiers had opened fire on peaceful #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate plaza which resulted in the loss of life and injury to many others.
The Southwest Governors were led by its chairman, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State.
The entourage commiserated with those that lost their lives and properties in the coordinated attacks.
Sanwo-Olu took the South West Governors and Ministers round on an inspection of some vandalised areas, including Igbosere High Court, City Hall, DNA and Forensic Centre.
Others in the entourage include Governors Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti and Seyi Makinde of Oyo.
The Ministers include Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Works and Housing, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora, Minister for State of Health, Minister for Interior, Rauf Aregbesola and Niyi Adebayo the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
Others are Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, and Olamilekan Adebite, Minister of Mines and Steel.
Government-owned and private assets affected include Orile Divisional Police Headquarters, Ajah Divisional headquarters, Amukoko Police Station on Cemetery Road, Lagos State Public Works Corporation in Ojodu, Lagos Island LGA Secretariat, City Hall, Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) Building at Marina, Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre at CMS, Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) headquarters in Ojodu and Toll Plazas at Lekki and Ikoyi Link Bridge, among others.
