Anti-riot policemen have been able to safely evacuate staff members of the popular media house, TVC to safety after hoodlums attacked their premises on Wednesday.

Some angry youths had earlier stormed the premises of the TV station, owned by former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, vandalized some properties, and set ablaze some other properties.

However, a quick intervention of some anti-riot policemen who arrived at the headquarters of Television Continental (TVC) in Ikosi Lagos prevented further damage before the thugs could carry out other activities.

The policemen were also able to safely evacuate members of staff and others who were trapped within the building when it was attacked by hoodlums.

The angry youths are reacting to the unprovoked shooting of peaceful #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Plaza by security forces on Tuesday night.

The hoodlums have also set ablaze Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) terminals, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) head office in Marina, Igbosere Magistrates Court, Lekki Shopping Mall, and many other public facilities in reaction to the attacks by security forces on protesters.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the hoodlums are taking advantage of the current security situation to loot, destroy properties and commit other crimes, adding that such individuals will be arrested and brought to justice.

He said: “They are attacking and looting banks and people’s properties. Even taking away cars.

” They are hoodlums and they will be treated as such. Everybody is a target. Police stations and media houses not spared. Minimum force will be applied to curtail them.”
