Tension As Thugs Clash In Ikorodu, Lagos

Hoodlums reported to be boys from Ogolonto and Idiroko on Sunday clashed at Ogolonto roundabout, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

Naija News reports that dangerous weapons such as cutlasses, axes, stones, and bottles were used by the thugs during the fight.

An eyewitness, who identified himself as Adigun, told The Punch that the hoodlums also robbed some members of the public of their valuables.

He said: “The hoodlums have been robbing people of their phones and other valuables. They don’t want anybody to record the clash. When commercial drivers get to Ogolonto, they usually disembark passengers from their vehicles and turn back so that their vehicles won’t be destroyed.”

Stranded passengers had to take cover in peoples houses, shops, and commercial centres to escape being attacked.

Another eyewitness, who gave his name simply as Bolaji, said the clash had been ongoing since Friday and usually happens between 7 am to 10 am.
