Politicians who are from the Igbo region of the country have been urged to make their stance known about the on-going demands for reform of the Nigerian Police Force by youths in the country.

The call was handed down by the youth wing of the Igbo apex social-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo in a statement by its media and publicity secretary, Chief Osmond Nkeoma.

The statement warned that it is a good opportunity for the politicians to speak out or be silent about the various forms of injustice the youths are facing.

The statement however reminded such politicians that whatever decision they make now, the youths will not forget when the time comes to vote during the 2023 general election in Nigeria.

The Ohanaeze youth wing also called on Governors in the South East and South-South regions to take a stand and make it public on the disbandment of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) just as their Northern counterparts have done.

Nkeoma said “The northern Governors Forum has within 48 hours of the disbandment of SARS made their stance known, we demand to know the stance of the Southern Governors also, more especially that of their South Eastern counterparts whom majority of their people are seeing as northern stooges.

“This is wonderful opportunity for them to prove that they are not anti-Igbo. As for our politicians, elders and supposed leaders whom have chosen to be silent in the face of injustice to their children , the youths are watching. 2023 is by the corner. We will remember. “

Meanwhile, #EndSARS protesters at the Lagos State House of Assembly on Friday rejected food and soft drinks sent to them by Chairman of the National Union of the Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo.
