EFCC Arrests Nine Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Ogun State

The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has confirmed the arrest of nine (9) suspected Nigerians for allegedly involved in cybercrime activity popularly known as Yahoo-Yahoo in Ogun State.

The suspects were arrested in the state capital, Abeokuta, on Wednesday, October 14, Naija News understands.

Names of the culprits were revealed as Tobi Idowu; Gbeminiyi Samuel; Agbabaidan Idris; Adekunle Gafar; Wusu Taiwo; Adediran Rotimi; Olaiya Olamide; Ikegbuka Junior and Ridwan Garuba.

Nigeria’s anti-graft agency reported that it arrested the suspects in an early morning raid at their hideout at Aaya Camp, noting their age range as 21 and 31. EFCC confirmed that it arrested the suspects following sustained surveillance and intelligence on suspected cybercrime activities in the spot.

The commission noted that it will charge the suspects to court as soon as investigations are concluded. Items recovered from them include two cars, laptops, phones, internet routers and automated teller machine (ATM) cards, Naija News reports.

Meanwhile, at least five suspected traffic robbers have been arrested by police officers attached to Ketu Division of the Lagos State Police Command, Naija News reports.
