IGP Adamu Sets Up SWAT To Replace F-SARS

Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), on Tuesday set up a new tactical unit to replace the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

In a statement by the Force spokesman, Frank Mba, the new unit is named Special Weapons and Tactics Team – (SWAT).

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, has pleaded for an out-of-court settlement in the N10bn libel suit filed against him by Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.

The Peoples Democratic Party Governor has filed the suit against former Edo State Governor following his statement against him at a press conference on July 27, 2018.

Human Rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, has stated reasons why President Muhammadu Buhari should not appoint his aide, Lauretta Onochie, as a Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
