The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Ondo State election, Eyitayo Jegede, has been charged by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, to defeat to the ruling party.

This is coming after the Independent National Electoral Commission, declared the candidate of the APC, Rotimi Akeredolu as winner of the election.

Eze who described the former Attorney-General of Ondo State as his very close friend from their days in Adamawa State told Jegede “to not only join APC but work very closely with the Governor for a better and greater Ondo State as the future of the State lays in the hands of patriotic and educated leaders like him.”

He further stated that the election was peaceful “depicting an appreciable degree of a global standard and demonstrated that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is well equipped to improve on the democratic credentials of our nation.”

“With this development, APC has proved once again that with unity future victories of the party in subsequent elections are assured,” he said.
