President Buhari Makes Fresh Appointments

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of three additional directors for the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).

According to a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President, Mr Laolu Akande, the additional appointments are to give more coverage and ensure greater efficiency of operations.

The statement gave the names of the three new Executive Directors as Mr Abdullahi Kassim; Mrs. Nkechinyelu Mba and Mr Mohammed Mahmud.

With this new board structure, NDPHC has 6 directors each drawn from the six geo-political zones in the country. Below are their full names and designation.

(i) Mr Joseph Chiedu Ugbo, Managing Director/CEO – South South

(ii) Mr Babayo Shehu, Executive Director (Finance & Accounts) – North East

(iii) Mr Ifeoluwa Oyedele, Executive Director (Networks) – South West

(iv) Mr Abdullahi Kassim, Executive Director (Generation) – North West

(v) Mrs Nkechinyelu Mba, Executive Director (Corporate Services)– South East

(vi) Mr Mohammed Mahmud as Executive Director (Legal Services & Company Secretary) – North Central

It will be recalled that President Buhari had in August 2020, renewed the appointment of Mr Joseph Chiedu Ugbo, as the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).

The president also approved the renewal of the appointments of Babayo Shehu and Ifeoluwa Oyedele as Executive Directors of the NDPHC for another period of 4 years.

The president also conveyed his approval for the appointment of three additional directors for the organization to guarantee more effectiveness and efficiency in the discharge of its activities.
