Eyitayo Jegede Withdraws From 2024 Ondo Governorship Race

Gbenga Akinmoyo, the spokesperson of the campaign organisation of the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, on Sunday noted that their team is waiting on God following the defeat of his principal.

Akinmoyo stated this during an interview on Channels Tv in Akure, the state capital, on Sunday.

He said, “This project is a project that God has ordained. As it is so, we wait. So we wait on God.”

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday announced Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, as the winner of the election.

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress won 15 out of 18 local governments, while Jegede won the remaining three.

Akinmoyo in his statement appreciated the people of the state for voting for their conscience during the October 10 election.

“For the benefit of the general public, we will like to thank all the Ondo State voters who went to the polls yesterday and voted for their conscience,” he added.
