Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday met with protesters calling for the total disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) at LLekki Toll Gate, Lagos.
He promised that his administration will pay compensation to victims of SARS extra-judicial killings and brutality.
Recall that #EndSARS protesters had on Monday morning blocked the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos.
Despite the disbandment of the SARS Nigerians have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to make an executive order or a take legislative action to confirm the scrapping of the police unit.
The protesters are also demanding the release of all arrested protesters.
This has led to early morning gridlock as commuters and motorists on their way to work were on standstill.
