Jimoh Isiaq, the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) student killed during the #EndSARS protest in Ogbomosho has been buried.

The student was shot on Saturday while participating in the protests calling on the Nigerian government to immediately end the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a controversial unit of the Nigerian Police Force.

SARS have become notorious for extra-judicial killings, extortion, and other vices across the country.

It will be recalled as earlier reported by Naija News that Police officers in Oyo State reportedly opened fire on peaceful protesters in the Ogbomoso area of the state killing one person.

In a bid to disperse the protesters in the ancient town, police opened fire at them, one of them was hit and eventually lost his life. The remains of the student, now identified as Jimoh Isiaq has been laid to rest according to Islamic rites.

Below is the sad video of his burial.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State Police Command has denied news that any of its operatives shot at #Endsars protesters today in Ogbomosho.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, in a statement issued in Ibadan on Saturday, said that the police did not fire a single shot at any protester but only used tear gas.

Fadeyi said: “According to the information I gathered from the officers monitoring the protest, the police did not fire a shot at anybody.

“The protesters were allowed for over one hour to carry out their protest and express their grievances until when some of them wanted to forcefully enter the police station with a view to attacking it.

“The police only fired teargas to disperse the protesters; they did not fire shot at anybody as widely reported,’’ Fadeyi said.
