The war of words between Nigerian songwriter and singer, Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, and Lauretta Onochie, a social media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari has continued.

This is as Wizkid took to his Twitter page on Tuesday night to condemn the utterances of Onochie after he had previously called out President Buhari on the indiscriminate killing of innocent Nigerians by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a unit of the Nigeria Police Force.

The singer noted that he is not a kid as described by the presidential aide, but a father, adding that age has nothing to do with a citizen demanding better governance and what is right from the leaders of the country.

In his opinion, Onochie as a woman and a mother, should have been more concerned about the killing of innocent Nigerians by the Police.

“Lol, a 77-year-old man is not young ma.. You are a woman and a mother and kids are getting killed by police/sars and this is all you have to say? shame on you!!! shame on you!! I am a father and age has nothing to do with demanding for a better governance in my country!!,” Wizkid wrote on Twitter on Tuesday night.

His latest statement is in direct response to a previous verbal attack by presidential aide, Onochie who had earlier stated that the singer in dumb and disrespectful.

“It’s not disrespectful to call anyone old. Its the way and manner Ayo Balogun addressed the President that leaves a sour taste in the mouth.”

“He exhibited crass ignorance, insensitivity and childishness. But hey, he’s a #DumbkidNotWhizKid”

“When he grows up, he might learn respect,” Onochie had written on Twitter in reaction to the call by Wizkid for President Buhari to address the growing concerns from Nigerians about the activities and behaviour of SARS operatives.

It all started on Monday after Wizkid called out President Muhammadu Buhari for responding quickly to US President, Donald Trump’s health issues, and remaining unconcerned about security issues in Nigeria.

Naija News recalls the issue of SARS brutality has come to the forefront of National issues once again with Nigerians demanding a total ban on the operation of the SARS operatives.

The Inspector-General of Police had on Sunday, 4th October 2020, in the wake of the renewed calls for an and to SARS activities announced some restrictions on their activities, but not satisfied, Nigerians are demanding a complete and total end to be brought to the existence of the SARS unit.
