#EndSARS: Nigerian Governors Gives New Directive To IGP Adamu

The Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force have been banned from conducting stop and search operations on roads.

The recent instruction is from the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, who had earlier promised to reform the SARS.

Naija News recalls that some group of Nigerians recently in the social media, called for the scrapping of SARS over alleged harassment of innocent Nigerians, using the #EndSARS.

Following the allegation, the Inspector- General of Police , Mr Ibrahim Idris, promised to restructure and reposition the unit for effective service delivery.

However, Speaking further on the recent development via a statement by the Chairman of Governor forum in Nigeria  Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu on the decision to ban FSARs with immediate effect .
