Over the weekend, there were serious outrage displayed by Nigerians, including celebrities, over the incessant rate at which innocent Nigerians were being killed, by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The recent outcry was sparked off when a video emerged on Saturday, in which a young man was seen to be shot dead by SARS operatives who made away with his car.

Following the recent clamour for the end of SARS operation in the country, the Inspector General of Police IGP, Ibrahim Adamu called for the immediate ban of operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery SquadF-SARS and other Tactical Squads of the Nigeria Police Force from routine patrols including searching phones of citizens.

However, this isn’t the first time the IGP is given such directive.
