1. How FG Plans To Create One Million Jobs Before End Of October – Sunday Dare

Mr Sunday Dare, Nigeria’s Minister of Youths and Sports Development has disclosed that the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari plans to create one million jobs for unemployed youths. The Minister added that plans are already in the pipeline to make the jobs available before the end of October.

2. Trump Rushed To Walter Reed Hospital, US

United States President, Donald Trump, has been taken to the Walter Reed Medical Center to continue treatment for Coronavirus (COVID-19). Naija News reports that Trump was taken to the hospital in Marine One helicopter.

3. Police Service Commission Promotes Officers, Demotes Others (Full List)

The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of 175 senior Police Officers. It also stepped down the promotion of 112 others. The decisions were part of the highpoints of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the Commission which held in Abuja on Monday and Tuesday, September 28th and 29th, 2020 and presided over by Commission Chairman, retired Inspector General of Police, Musiliu Smith.

4. School Re-opening: We Are Still On Strike – ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities on Friday noted that it has not call off the ongoing strike despite the directive by the Federal Government for Universities to resume. The National President of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, stated that the union’s ongoing strike would continue.

5. Appeal Court Rules On Bayelsa Gov Diri’s Election Nullification

The Court of Appeal on Friday overturned a ruling which nullified the election of Douye Diri as governor of Bayelsa State. A five-man panel of the Appeal Court held that the Bayelsa Election Petition Tribunal acted outside its jurisdiction by nullifying the election of Diri.

6. Federal Government Approves Reopening Of Universities, Polytechnics, Others

President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has directed the reopening of Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education in Nigeria. Tertiary institution regulatory agencies like the National Universities Commission (NUC), National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) and National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) have also directed tertiary institutions to reopen.

7. Buhari Orders Complete Reopening Of All Schools

The Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government on Friday ordered the total reopening of all schools across the country. Naija News reports that in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) Buhari had shut down schools in Nigeria.

Former Military President, Gen Ibrahim Babangida, retd, has expressed hope that a coup will no longer hold in Nigeria. Babangida, spoke while fielding questions from an ongoing interview with Channels Television.

English Premier League side, Manchester United, on Friday confirmed the signings of Charlie McNeill and Alejandro Garnacho in the summer transfer window. According to information gathered, the duo will join the Red Devils’ youth team from Manchester City and Atletico Madrid respectively.

Nigerian Hip pop singer Davido born David Adeleke has signed his first female artiste. He announced the signing of his first female artiste Liya on Friday via Twitter.
