The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has conveyed a message of quick recovery to Donald Trump, President of the United States, and his wife, Melanie.

It will be recalled that Trump and his wife tested positive to the coronavirus infection as disclosed on Twitter by the US president himself.

He added that both of them have gone into quarantine.

“Tonight, the first lady and I tested positive for COVID-19,” tweeted the president of the world’s first power. “We will begin our quarantine and the recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER! “, he tweeted.

President Buhari in a message on Friday, joined “all citizens of the United States of America in prayers for the quick and full recovery of President Donald Trump and his wife, Melanie.”

According to a statement issued by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity) in Abuja on Friday, the President noted, “with sympathy, that the incident of COVID-19 in the White House manifests the challenge posed by the pandemic across the world, and difficulty in containing the spread.”

The statement said, “while wishing the American First Family a speedy turnaround in their current health status, President Buhari urged more compliance among Nigerians to protocols, and adherence to advice of medical doctors, particularly epidemiologists.”
