Katsina State: One Killed, Many Injured As Police Attack Anti-Banditry Protesters

A yet to be identified man in Katsina State has been shot dead by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, according to Sahara Reporters.

Information gathered revealed that several others were injured while residents of communities under Jibia Local Government Area of the state staged a protest over the spate of insecurity in the area.

It was reported that the protesters blocked the Katsina-Jibia Highway during the protest against repeated bandits attack and in the process, the victim was shot dead by the police who were trying to contain the protest.

The protesters during the protest called on President Muhammadu Buhari and Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari to resign over insecurity in the state.

Banditry attacks in the state have seen no fewer than 300 people have been reportedly killed by bandits in Jibia, Kankara, Dutsinma, Musawa, Danmusa and Safana local government areas of the state in the last two months.
