The English Premier League match between Manchester City and Leicester on Sunday, September 27 ended with mix reactions as Pep Guardiola’s side were defeated to 5-2 at the Etihad stadium.

Speaking a few moments after the Sunday evening defeat, the Spanish coach criticized Leicester City’s tactics, noting that Brendan Rodgers’ side defended so deep and just wanted to counter-attack.

Guardiola noted further that the lack of creating chances made his players so nervous and anxious. Naija News understands that Leicester won the game with three penalty kicks and two more goals.

Man City had earlier took the lead of the game with a 4minutes goal from Riyad Mahrez, but conceded the equalizer when Jamie Vardy netted a 37th-minute penalty. Vardy, before he was substituted, won two more penalties for his side while James Maddison added a fourth goal. Guardiola played with the likes of his natural attackers Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus out of the game due to injury blamed the Foxes’ style for their loss at the Etihad.

He said, “They didn’t want to play, they defended so deep and just wanted to counter-attack.

“They scored the first time they arrived and had three penalties in total, so it was very difficult for us. The lack of creating chances made us nervous and anxious,” Guardiola told reporters.
