Edo: Two Candidates May Approach Tribunal

Presidential Tribunal: INEC Closes Case Against Peter Obi

Two governorship candidate in the just concluded Edo State election, Tracy Ebun Agol of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and Osalumese Areloegbe of the All Peoples Party may approach the tribunal over the outcome of the electoral process.

The candidates in their statements noted that they are consulting their political parties before deciding whether or not to approach the Election Petition Tribunal.

Agol said, “We have to consult with the national body before we take any decision concerning the Edo election.”

“We are also looking at all that took place during the election after which we will make our findings public and decide the next step to take.”

Agol when asked if she considered the election free and fair, she replied, “It will be revealed as soon as we meet with the national body.”

Areloegbe on his part said, “I would have to hold a meeting with the party before knowing whether we will go to the tribunal or not.”

“People were induced with money. Some of my votes were also nullified while some were not counted.”
