Osita Okechukwu, director-general of Voice of Nigeria (VON), has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) may likely zone 2023 presidency to the south-east

Okechukwu made this known at the APC expanded caucus meeting which took place at its secretariat in Enugu ahead of the Isi-Uzo state constituency bye-election fixed for October 31.

According to him, the zoning was necessitated by the need to shrine equity, justice and good conscience which the party was known for.

He said some internal wrangling is current enveloping the party, which has caused an apprehension ahead of 2023

Okechukwu said an Igbo president would bring his entrepreneurial spirit and help to transform the country’s economy.

However, he praised the chairman of the APC in the state for his efforts in uniting the party and bringing back aggrieved members like the pioneer chairman, Chief Adolphus Ude and pioneer women leader, Queen Nwankwo, amongst others.

He recognised the party’s executive committee in the state led by Dr Ben Nwoye and urged its members to work to consolidate the newly found unity.

At home I want you to embrace the agricultural project of the federal government as part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s agro-revolution.

“The federal government will provide the necessary incentives like seedlings, fertiliser, tractors as well as agro-processing centres,’’ he said.
