It's Left For Tinubu To Allow Him - Shehu Sani Identifies Politician Trying To Cause Crisis In Nigeria

The former Senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani has warned Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki against establishing himself as a godfather in the state.

Obaseki who was recently re-elected as the Edo State governor during the September 19 governorship polls had described his victory as a triumph over godfatherism.

Former Governor and ex-National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole was widely believed as attempting to play godfather in Edo State politics.

His candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu was however defeated in the governorship election by Obaseki.

Following his victory, Obaseki promised not to become a new godfather in Edo politics, stating that if he does, “I should be dealt with accordingly.”

This he stated while speaking with State House correspondents after his ‘thank you visit’ to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa on Friday.

Reacting to the Governor’s declaration, Senator Shehu Sani also took to his Twitter page on Friday evening to further warn Obaseki against any attempt to establish himself as the new godfather of Edo politics, warning that he would fall like the biblical Pharaoh.

He wrote: “Thy name is Godwin delivered by thy Lord, seek yeah not to be Godfather and return not to Egypt, else thee shall fall like the pharaoh.”
