2023: PDP Releases Remaining Presidential Campaign Rally Event Schedules

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2019 presidential candidate has reacted to the alleged harassment of PDP governors by Police in Edo State.

Atiku in his reaction, condemned the action of the Police, noting that free and fair election can’t be achieved when equal access is not given.

It will be recalled Naija News previously reported that the hotel where Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, is lodging in Benin, Edo State capital came under siege by over 300 policemen.

This was made known by Ambassador Akawor Desmond, Chairman PDP Rivers State in a statement on Friday evening where he called the attention of the Police IG, Mohammed Adamu to some political developments in Edo State.

Reacting to the report, Atiku called for free and fair election to be allowed in the state without using any form of intimidation or harassment.

He wrote on his Twitter page on Friday evening: “A promise of free & fair election cannot be mere lip service. It’s a commitment & should be demonstrated by way of equal access & restriction to every stakeholder. Blockading the hotel of @OfficialPDPNig governors in the eve of the Edo election isn’t a good way to show fairness.”
