Security Agencies To Launch Major Operations Against IPOB

Several bandits have been reportedly sent to rest in a recent operation carried out by the Air Component of Operation Thunder Strike.

The development was confirmed in a statement on Friday, September by the Defence Headquarters, noting that OTS in the operation carried out on Thursday, September 17 successfully killed some bandits at their meeting point in Kwaimbana Forest area of Kaduna State.

Speaking on the event on Friday, the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. John Enenche revealed that the air raid was conducted after a series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that confirmed the hideout along with a building in the centre of the forest.

According to him, the Air Component dispatched Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jets and helicopter gunships to attack the location accordingly to engage the bandits in their numbers.

Enenche explained further that the attack aircraft took turns in engaging the target area, scoring accurate hits which resulted in the damage of the building as well as neutralisation of several bandits.

Meanwhile, Naija News reported earlier that a family of five alongside two other persons have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Barakallahu, which is along Kaduna-Zaria road, in Igabi local government area, Kaduna State.

Naija News understands that the kidnappers had stormed the community at about 1:30 am on Friday, shooting sporadically and burgled into a house to kidnap a woman and her four children.
