Herders Crisis: Miyetti Allah Issues Directive To Gov. Makinde

Members and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the South-West has been cautioned against challenging Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as the leader of the party in the South-West zone.

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts, Busayo Wole Oke who stated this in a statement released on Tuesday, September 15, in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, noted that the governor is the best to take the leadership of the PDP in South-West.

According to Oke in the statement titled “Makinde best person to lead PDP In South West- Reps member, Wole Oke,” Makinde’s position as the only PDP governor in the zone conferred on him the leadership position in line with the norms and traditions of the PDP.

The politician who represents Obokun/ Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State explained further that besides been the only PDP governor in the zone, Makinde’s educational qualifications and personal disposition makes him a leader among men.

Oke there urged the party loyal and leaders against interfering in the governor’s tradition, adding that no one should challenge the noble arrangement in the overall interest of the Party except for selfish interest.

The statement partly reads; “By convention and practices (of the PDP), Makinde, who is the only PDP governor in the South West, emerges as the leader of the zone and no loyal and committed member of the PDP family should challenge the noble arrangement in the overall interest of the Party except for selfish interest.”

“Aside convention and practices he brings on board decency, finesse, humility, decorum, he cares and loves his fellow party men.”

“He’s educated, deep, and exposed. He has a lot of experience and core professionals before coming into power. We can gain a lot from him,” Oke noted.

The lawmaker added that “anybody grandstanding is on his own, the party is greater than anybody.”

Oke, however, appealed to party leaders and supporters in the zone to rally support for governor Makinde to enable him to succeed in taking the party in the South West to the next level before the 2023 general elections.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) of being behind the recent fire at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Akure, Ondo State, Naija News reports.
