Liverpool To Get £5m Payment From Barcelona As Coutinho Fails To Exit Club

The 2019/2020 English Premier League season champions, Liverpool FC are said to be awaiting a £5million payment from Spanish professional football club, FC Barcelona as Philippe Coutinho is looking forward to staying at Camp Nou this summer.

The 28-year-old Brazilian midfielder who played on loan in the last summer for Bayern Munich to win the UEFA Champions League competition is said to be interested in playing for his parent club for the 2020/2021 season.

A report by the Spanish outlet, Sport stated that Coutinho’s further stay at Barcelona only means that Liverpool is in line for a £5million from Barcelona.

According to the report, the payment is one of a number of add-ons said to have been included by Liverpool in the £145m deal that took the Brazilian to Barcelona in 2018.

It was revealed also that new Barcelona coach, Ronald Koeman is counting on the player for the new campaign.

Naija News, however, understands that Arsenal, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur were all keen on bringing Coutinho back to England.
