Obaseki's Camp Reacts As INEC Recognises Orbih's PDP Faction

The Special Assistant to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State on Gender (Women) Issues (Owan West Local Government Area), Oarhe Glory, has resigned her appointment.

Naija News reports that Glory announced her resignation in a letter dated September 7, 2020, and addressed to the governor through the Secretary, Owan West LGA.

Glory said she made the decision so she could work for her party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

According to Obaseki’s former aide, she did not want to disappoint the leaders of her party, hence her decision to leave the administration.

“I am OARHE GLORY, the Special Assistant to Governor Godwin Noghaghese Obaseki on Women Gender Owan West Local Government Area in Edo State,” Ms Glory’s letter read.

“I wish to resign my appointment today (so) as to work for my party APC opening (sic) without any hink (sic) of fear because I believe I came in through a leader for this my appointment and there is a need to dedicate my loyalty to work for my party and also not to disappoint the leaders of my party most especially the Rt. Hon. Mike Ohio Ezomo.”

Glory’s resignation is the latest to hit the Obaseki administration following a series of resignations in recent months.

Recall that Obaseki, who was elected under the platform of the APC, resigned from the party after he was disqualified from contesting in the party’s primary election in June.

He subsequently joined the PDP where he won the party’s ticket for the September 19, 2020, governorship election.
