Gabriel Magalhaes Arsenal Shirt Number Revealed

New Arsenal signing, Gabriel Magalhaes will get the number 6 shirt with his new club as confirmed by the London club on Tuesday.

It will be recalled that the 22-year-old Brazillian defender was officially unveiled on Tuesday as the latest player to join the Gunners squad.

The official statement confirming the player’s arrival from Lille revealed that he will be wearing the number 6 jersey last won by former Arsenal captain, Laurent Koscielny.

“Central defender Gabriel has joined us from French side Lille on a long-term contract.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has completed his move and will wear our number 6 shirt,” the statement read in part.

Magalhaes completed his medicals last week and has signed a five-year deal with Arsenal. He is expected to go straight into the first team as part of Manager Mikel Arteta’s new-look defence line up for the 2020/21 football season.
