The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday evening, 26th August 2020, confirmed 221 new cases of coronavirus disease infection in Nigeria.

Naija News reports that the new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed via a statement on the official Twitter handle of the health agency.

The development brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 53 021 which includes 40,281 discharged cases and 1,010 deaths.
Below is the breakdown of the latest cases.
Naija News learnt that Plateau State had the highest number of infections on Wednesday night with 60 cases, with FCT State following with 33 cases.
