Boko Haram: Mailafia Reveals What Will Stop Him From Exposing More Secrets

Dr. Obadiah Mailafia has disclosed that the insecurity in the country and particularly in Southern Kaduna has forced him to resign his position at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

The former presidential candidate is understood to be an instructor and a directing staff at NIPSS, a foremost policy research institute and training center located at Kuru in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

Mailafia, who is also a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been in the limelight recently over his claims that a northern governor is the commander of the Boko Haram terrorist group.

This he stated during an interview with a private radio station in the country. His claims led to grilling on two different occasions by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Mailafia, who is from Kaduna State has now disclosed that the killings of his people in Southern Kaduna has made him resign his position in NIPSS.

He added that his conscience no longer allows him to continue working at the institute while his people are being killed on a daily basis.

“I have resigned from NIPPS,” he told Daily Trust on phone.

“Nobody asked me or pressurized me to resign. I did it on my own.

“I decided that I cannot continue working, with all my good conscience, when my people are continually being killed and genocide is being committed against my people.

Mailafia who noted that his resignation is in the best interest of everybody, stated that the resignation, which has been accepted by NIPSS management will kick off properly on the 18th of September due to the one month notice included in it.

“That was the reason I gave, and the management has accepted my resignation.

“I gave them one month’s notice from 18th August to 18th September when the resignation will take off properly.

“And my resignation is for the best interest of everybody,” he said.

Meanwhile, Naija News earlier reported that Mailafia has stated that he won’t be honouring the Police invitation which instructed him to turn up for questioning in Abuja.

He has instead, dragged the police to court to challenge the Nigerian Police invitation as his legal team stated that the invitation given to Mailafia is strange and alien to Nigeria’s extant laws and procedures.
