Edo 2020: We Will Tame The ‘Lions And Tigers’ In Edo State – Obaseki Blows Hot
The Governor Of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has vowed that all those planning to cause violence before, during, and after the 2020 governorship election in the state will be dealt with.
Obaseki made the declaration on Sunday at his ward Opoji, Esan Central Local Government Area.
Naija News reports Obaseki is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state governorship election fixed for September 19, 2020.
He said he has received intelligence reports by some unscrupulous elements to cause trouble by hiding under the cover of the forthcoming governorship polls.
The Governor warned that political thugs and other criminal elements will not be allowed to overrun the state, adding that his party, the PDP will not “succumb to threats” and urged PDP members and supporters to remain steadfast.
“We will tame the lions and tigers in Edo with relevant laws of our country,” NAN quoted him as saying, adding that “adequate security would be provided on election day.”
