The presidency on Friday listed some major achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration since the beginning of its second term in office. The major policies, programmes, and projects were listed to mark one year since President Buhari inaugurated his second-term cabinet.

2. NCDC Records 340 New Cases of Coronavirus

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded three hundred and forty (340) new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19). The agency made this known in a post on its official Twitter page on Friday night.

3. UNILAG Crisis: Buhari Asks Ogundipe, Babalakin To Step Aside

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the embattled and sacked Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Prof. Toyin Ogundipe to step aside. Naija News reports that Buhari also directed the Pro-Chancellor of the institution, Dr. Wale Babalakin to recuse himself from official duties.

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has berated Olusegun Obasanjo and Bola Tinubu for aiding the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria’s President. Naija News reports that Obasanjo is a former President of Nigeria while Tinubu is the current National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party on the platform Buhari contested the Presidency in 2015 and 2019.

5. Presidential Panel Asks Buhari To Sack Magu, Appoint New EFCC Boss

President Muhammadu Buhari has been asked to sack and prosecute the suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, for corruption and abuse of office. According to The Cable, the Justice Ayo Salami-led presidential panel made the recommendation to President Buhari in its interim report submitted on Wednesday.

6. Private Jet Crashes At Lagos Airport

An aircraft belonging to Jedidiah Air on Friday crashed into a fence at General Aviation Terminal (GAT), local wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. It was gathered that the jet, a propeller aircraft, crashed into the fence when it was reparking at the tarmac close to a facility used by Bristow Helicopters.

7. Coup: US Suspends Military Aid In Mali

The United States of America has suspended it’s military aid to Mali following the coup in the country which saw President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita resign from office. There will be “no further training or support of the Mali armed forces we have halted everything until we can clarify the situation,” the US special envoy for the Sahel, J. Peter Pham, told reporters.
