Coronavirus: NCDC Confirms 601 New COVID-19 Cases In Nigeria

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday evening, 22nd August 2020, confirmed 601 new cases of coronavirus disease infection in Nigeria.

Naija News reports that the new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed via a statement on the official Twitter handle of the health agency.

The development brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 51,905 which includes 38,767 discharged cases and 997 deaths.

Below is the breakdown of the latest cases according to states with Lagos recording the highest number of new confirmed cases, followed by Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Oyo State, southwest Nigeria.
