Some Batch C applicants of the federal government social intervention scheme, Npower have started receiving e-mail updates from administrators of the scheme.

It is understood that the mail is been received by some of those who had earlier completed the application process before the recruitment portal was closed.

It will be recalled the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, had officially announced the closure of the recruitment portal for Npower batch C applicants.

The Minister made the disclosure on Sunday night via a series of tweets from her verified Twitter handle.

As previously reported by Naija News, over five million Nigerian youths applied for recruitment into the Npower scheme before the portal stopped receiving applications.

Only 400,000 persons will be chosen from the pool of applicants, the federal government had earlier disclosed.

“The N-Power Batch C application portal closed on Sunday, August 9, 2020, after receiving over 5m applications.

“As we embark on the review process, efforts are in high gear to clear the stipends for Batch A and B before onboarding the new set of beneficiaries,” the Minister tweeted on Sunday.

It is however understood that those who didn’t get the email notification have nothing to worry about even as the Batch C recruitment goes into the review stage.

Some others had also received this notification immediately they registered on the portal.

The notification does not confirm selection for the next stage, neither does it disqualify anyone.

Meanwhile, N-Power has on Wednesday, 19th August, commenced the payment of outstanding Npower stipends after seventy-nine days protests by aggrieved batches A and B beneficiaries of the social intervention scheme.
