Barely a week after it was reported that unknown gunmen attacked and murdered a lawmaker in Bauchi, his two wives and a child who were also abducted during the deadly operation have been reportedly rescued.

Naija News reports that the lawmaker representing Baraza Dass Constituency in Bauchi Assembly, Hon. Musa Mante was killed on Thursday night, August 14 in his residence in Dass Local Government Area.

Reports reaching Naija News at this time, however, confirmed that his wives, Rashida Musa Mante (40), Rahina Musa Mante (35) and a daughter Fausar Musa Mante (1) who were kidnapped at the scene of the horrible attack have regained their freedom.

Confirming their release on Tuesday, August 18, the Chief of Staff, Bauchi Government House, Dr Ladan Salihu, took to his Twitter account to note that the whole family have been released and are set to be examined medically to ascertain their well-being.

He tweeted; “Alhamdulillah! The wives of Hon. Musa Baraza, Bauchi House Member murdered 4 days ago in Dass have regained Freedom.

“The one-year-old baby abducted along with them is also released. Gov Bala Mohammed has directed Doctors and security to give them adequate care and attention.”
