Mompha Drags EFCC To Court Over Unlawful Arrest And Detention

Embattled Instagram celebrity Ismaila Mustapha Alias Mompha,has dragged Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to a federal high court over alleged unlawful arrest and detention.

Naija News learnt that Mompha through his lawyer appealed with the Federal High Court in Lagos to compel the anti-graft agency to pay him N5m for what he termed as an unlawful re-arrest. He is also seeking an order of the court directing the EFCC to release him from custody, unconditionally.

He also requested an order of perpetual injunction restraining the EFCC or any person acting on its behalf from arresting and detaining him in relation to the subject matter of this suit without recourse to the due process of law.

Naija news reported that  EFCC re-arrested Mompha on Friday when he went to the anti-graft agency office in Ikoyi, Lagos to reclaim his five wristwatches, one Apple Air pod, one iPhone 8 mobile phone and one pair of sunglasses, seized from him by the agency officials.
