Presidential Tribunal: INEC Closes Case Against Peter Obi

The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), on Tuesday, assured that the governorship election in Ondo State will be conclusive and acceptable.

The Ondo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Rufus Akeju, stated this at the opening ceremony of a three-day advocacy and voter education training for youths in the state.

Akeju noted that the electoral body is ready to conduct a free and fair election, that would be devoid of any form of malpractice during the October 10 polls.

According to him, the commission is very focused on the election with renewed vigour on voter education.

He further stated that the electoral process in Ondo State would be carried out in line with international best practices and expressed assurance that a conclusive election would be conducted by the commission.

“I want to assure you that the INEC is more than ever before, committed to the conduct of a free, fair, credible, conclusive and acceptable election in Ondo State, come Saturday, October 10, 2020, in line with international best practices.”

“Furthermore, the commission is working very hard towards eradicating the ‘do or die’ attitude, vote-buying menace as well as the high level of apathy associated with the electoral process.”
