The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, has finally revealed when Npower beneficiaries will receive their unpaid stipends.

Naija News reports that the Minister said batch A and B beneficiaries of the Federal Government social intervention scheme, N-Power, will receive their stipends before the onboarding of the new beneficiaries by the government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This online news platform understands that the Minister who made this known in a series tweets on Sunday night, August 16, assured beneficiaries of the social intervention scheme that “efforts are in high gear to clear the stipends.”

The Minister tweeted: The N-Power Batch C application portal closed on Sunday, August 9, 2020, after receiving over 5m applications.

“As we embark on the review process, efforts are in high gear to clear the stipends for Batch A and B before onboarding the new set of beneficiaries,” the tweet added.

Meanwhile, the assurance from the minister is coming two days after Aisha Yesufu, a rights activist and co-founder of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement, asked disengaged N-Power protesters to meet with other agitators to “protest on the same day.”

Aisha’s call is coming at a time Npower beneficiaries are still lamenting the delay in payment of Npower June stipend and Npower July stipend for the year 2020 by the Federal Government.

Naija News had reported earlier that several beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s N-Power programme protested in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, on Thursday 23rd July 2020, over unpaid Stipends and disengagement from the famed programme by Federal Government.
