Bayelsa State: APC Supporters Jubilate As Tribunal Sacks Gov Diri (Photos)

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress on Monday took to the streets of Bayelsa State to celebrate the sack of the state Governor, Duoye Diri.

They were spotted celebrating across some areas in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The APC Supporters had banners and chanted victory songs.

Recall that the APC candidate, David Lyon won the November 16, 2019 governorship election,  but the Supreme Court declared Diri and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) winner after ruling that the APC Deputy Governor-elect, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, presented a forged certificate.

The State Election Petition Tribunal on Monday in its ruling directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a fresh poll.

The tribunal noted that the electoral body wrongly excluded the Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party (ANDP) candidate.

Diri has, however, directed his to appeal the ruling of the Tribunal and he believes he will be victorious.
