Imo State: 'Forgive And Forget' - Uzodinma Pleads With Okorocha

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has revealed the reason why Rochas Okorocha, ex-governor of the state has not been in good term with him.

According to Uzodinma in a statement issued by his media office on Sunday, August 16, the feud between him and Okorocha started after he refused to dissolve investigation panels set up by the immediate past governor Emeka Ihedioha administration.

Naija News understands that the governor stated this while briefing leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at a meeting held at the Government House in Owerri on Saturday.

Uzodinma in the statement, titled, ‘Why I fell out with Okorocha – Uzodinma,’ said he refused to bow to pressures from Okorocha to dissolve the panels. According to him, Okorocha made the request to fuel his 2023 presidential ambition.

“There were two requests Okorocha made to me when I became governor. The first was to dissolve the panels set up by Ihedioha to probe his administration. I refused to grant the request because I think the mood of the Imo people was in support of the probe,” a part of the statement reads.

“The second request was to allow Dan Nwafor to remain chairman of APC in the State. I also declined that request and told him that the party rules were there to guide everyone on the matter.”

Meanwhile, a former Nigerian Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said that the only way to compensate Ndigbo over what happened during the civil war is to support them for the 2023 Presidency.
