1. DSS Invites Ex-Speaker Na’aba Over TV Interview

A former member of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’aba, was on Monday questioned by the Department of State Services (DSS). Na’aba invitation was made known in a terse statement by a former presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party, Dr Yunusa Tanko, entitled: “News Flash: DSS Invites NCFront leader and former Speaker, Ghali Umar Na’aba.”

2. Lagos GAC Member, Lanre Rasak Is Dead

Lanre Rasak, a member of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), has been reported dead after a brief illness. Rasak, aged 74 reportedly died Saturday morning.

The Bayelsa State governorship election petition tribunal has dismissed the petition brought before it by Owei Woniwei of the Alliance for Democracy against Senator Duoye Diri in the 2019 Bayelsa governorship election. The tribunal on Saturday dismissed Woniwei’s petition against the election victory of Diri for lack of merit.

5. Edo2020: Gov. Obaseki Shot At Us During Campaign – Edo Resident

Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, have been accused of shooting at residents during a rally of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo state. The residents of Apana Village, Edo State, made the claim in a letter written to the Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Mohammed.

6. Fire Destroys 10 Cars, Trailer In LASTMA’s Office

A fire outbreak which occurred within the yard of Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) in Oshodi, Lagos, has left a total number of ten cars and a trailer destroyed. Naija News reports that the fire which occurred on Friday razed several vehicles which were impounded by the Agency and kept within the yards.

7. Npower Stipend: Aisha Sends Important Message To Npower Beneficiaries

Aisha Yesufu, a rights activist and co-founder of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement, has asked disengaged N-Power protesters to meet with other agitators to “protest on the same day.” Naija News reports that Aisha’s call is coming at a time Npower beneficiaries are still lamenting the delay in payment of Npower June stipend and Npower July stipend for the year 2020.

8. NCDC Reports 325 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has reported three hundred and twenty-five (325) new cases of COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria. The health agency at exactly 11:26 pm on Saturday night, August 14 confirmed the new cases in on its official account on the microblogging site, Twitter. The development brings the overall confirmed cases of the dreaded disease to 48,770 in Nigeria, Naija News understands.

9. Champions League: Semi-Final Fixtures Confirmed

The year 2020 Champions League last four clubs to play in the semi-final has been confirmed. This is following a quarter-final victory for French professional football club, Lyon against Premier League club, Manchester City.
