Leader of the dreaded jihadist terrorist organization based in northeastern Nigeria, Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau on Wednesday, August 12, faulted an Upper Sharia Court ruling in Kano State, which sentenced a young musician identified as Yahaya Sharif-Aminu, to death by hanging for blaspheming Prophet Muhammad.

Naija News understands that Alkali Aliyu Muhammad Kani, the upper Shari’a court judge who made the declaration said the accused could appeal the verdict within 30 days even though he did not deny the charges.

However, a report on HumAngle which was monitored by Naija News claimed that the terrorist commander had condemned the declaration of the Shari’a High Court in Hausawa Filin Hockey in Kano, on the singer for his which allegedly ridiculed Prophet Muhammad.

Contrary to the said Sharia Law which allowed death sentence for blasphemy, Shekau in the reported audio noted that Kano State is never an Islamic State but a land of infidels where everyone practices democracy.

According to Shekau, “the western lifestyle of the people in the state itself is an insult to the Prophet Muhammad.”

“We heard about something sad happening in the state where people think they are Muslims, even though they are practising disbelief,” Shekau noted.

The Boko Haram leader continued by saying, “A singer opened his mouth and uttered unkind words against the Prophet (PBUH). It was said he was arrested and sentenced to death by hanging.

“According to some people, he can appeal the judgement. But what brought this if the sentence is godly?”

Shekau submitted in his reaction against the death sentence that “everyone knows that all schools of Islamic jurisprudence opine that whoever insults the Prophet should not be asked to repent.”

He said, “He should just be killed. If you really sentenced him, we should only hear that you slaughtered him.”

“Kano is not an Islamic State, calling it a land of infidels where democracy is practised,” HumAngle quoted Shekau saying.

The terrorist leader reiterates that the accused could not for any reason be declared as an infidel, but that he had sinned.

“You are not in an Islamic State. You are in the land of infidels. The only exception among you is a weak person who holds ‘Tawhid’ (monotheism). He can’t be declared as an infidel, but he is a sinner because he didn’t migrate,” he said.

He reiterated, “Before he insulted the Prophet (PBUH), your lifestyle is an insult itself. Your lifestyle is also blasphemy against the Prophet. How can you say you love someone and you slap him?”

“Just because you sit down and recite the Quran after you have already done what made you unbelievers? And because you say there is no god but Allah, you think you are Muslims? We tell you, you and the one who insulted the Prophet are all the same.”

Meanwhile, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has alleged that members of the Islamic State’s West Africa Province have invaded Nigeria.
