Parents To Face Jail Term After Forgetting Son In A Car Till He Died

Two parents have been charge with manslaughter after they forgot their son in the car till he died.

Reports has it that Dakota Fowler, 20, and Brandi Burks, 22, went to bed at midnight on Saturday, August 8, forgot their 3-year-old son in the car, only to remember the following day when it was too late.

They discovered him unresponsive in their vehicle 15 hours later, Franklin County police said.

Bentley Fowler, 3, was declared dead in Hodges, Alabama, at about 4 pm on Sunday.

It is believed that Bentley died from suffocation due to the heat in the car, but a post-mortem at the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences will establish the cause of death.

The police said the parents alleged that they put him to bed on Saturday midnight, only to discover him in the car the following day at 3pm.

Paramedics were called to the family home but were unable to resuscitate the child

The boys’ parents were charged with manslaughter and could face 20 years in prison if found guilty.
