JUST IN: FG Approves N8.49bn For COVID-19

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday approved the sum of N8.49 billion for the purchase of 12 items for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Naija News reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) would purchase the items.

The memo for the procurement was presented by the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, on behalf of the center at the Council chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The FEC meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja.

Those at the FEC meeting include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN); the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari; a

The Ministers include the Ministers of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed; Finance, Budget and National Planning Zainab Ahmed; Health Dr Osagie Ehanire; Environment Muhammad Mahmood; Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami; Mines and Steel Development, Olamilekan Adegbite and Minister of State for Health, Olorunmibe Mamora

Also physically present at the meeting are Minister of Power, Engr. Saleh Man and the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.

Other Ministers are to participate from their various offices in Abuja.
