Buy Weapons To Defend Yourselves - Gov Ortom Tells Benue Residents Again

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has met with stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the invitation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to him.

Naija News reports that the APC had asked the Benue State Governor to return back to the party in the run-up to the 2023 general elections.

Ortom disclosed this after he was offered an invitation by the opposition party in his state, the APC.

He made the announcement on Saturday during a PDP convention held at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, the capital of Benue.

The governor said after consulting with some of his close associates and the state branch of the PDP, he decided to reject the offer.

Ortom assured the supporters that, just as the party won in 2019, it will repeat the same feat in the 2023 election. He said the party’s success in the last general election was due to the support of its members

Meanwhile, Sir John Ngbede was re-elected as the PDP chairman for another four years.

Ngbede, alongside 38 others for various positions were returned unopposed.

Speaking after his re-election, Ngbede said the task ahead was daunting but his leadership would ensure credibility, fairness and accountability to surmount all obstacles.
