It Is All Lies, Southern Kaduna Killings Is Not Communal – SOKAPU Reveals Cause

Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, SOKAPU, has faulted reports by the Commander Operation Safe Haven, Major General Chukwuemeka Okonkwo that the killings in the Southern Kaduna were mere communal killings between Atyap youths and Fulani.

Contrary to the report, the forum noted that the incessant killing was an act of genocide aimed at clearing out indigenes with the aim of taking over their ancestral lands.

National President of SOKAPU, Jonathan Asake, made the submission in his address at the 2nd Black Sunday organized by the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kaduna State chapter, at ECWA GoodNews Church, Narayi High Cost, Kaduna, Naija News understands.

Asake urged Nigerian authorities and the international community to come to the rescue of people in the Southern Kaduna and humanity as a whole. He further challenged the army commander and those with the belief that the attack is communal to explain if the attacks carried out in Kajuru, Chikun, Kauru, Kachia and Sanga local government areas, among others, were between Atyap and Fulani.

He insisted that the attack is a grand ploy to massacre the people of Southern Kaduna and denied them of their ancestral lands. Speaking on the claims that the killings are premised on farmers/herders’ clashes, Mr Asake said; “there is no greater lie than the narrative that the killings in Southern Kaduna is hinged on clashes between farmers and herders.”

“When you consider that over 75 per cent of the victims of the attacks are children and women, then you will understand that since children and women are not farmers, we cannot accept the narrative of a clash between the two groups,” he added.

In other news, some officers of the Nigerian Police Force, NPF, has allegedly brutalized one Mr Sunny Uzorga, a commercial driver and his passengers in Delta State.
