Presidential Tribunal: INEC Closes Case Against Peter Obi

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has once again reinstated its threat to stop the polls abruptly if there is an  havoc during the 2020 Edo/Ondo governorship election.

Speaking on the resolution of the electoral body,  INEC through its spokesman, Festus Okoye, insisted that there is a level of violence that will be tolerated, adding that if the threshold is exceeded, then the Commission would be forced to suspend the electoral proceedings.

Okoye also accuses some political parties of engaging in activities aimed at making the commission become scared about moving on with the electoral exercises.

This call comes a few hours after the  Rivers State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Campaign Council for the Edo State Governorship election, Nyesom Wike, accuses  that the All Progressives Congress of planning to disrupt the 2020 Edo governorship election.

Wike made the allegation during a press briefing at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

He said “Why is the APC so confident about what will happen. It is because they think that they have security on their side. But in a weeks time, we will roll-out all their game plans as regards security in this election. We will roll-out their game plans with all the security to rig this election.

“We know the modus operandi of security in this election. When they want to rig the election, we know what they do. We have gathered enough intelligence on what they intend to do and we can tell you, we would scuttle it.
