Breaking: EFCC Arrests Obiano At Lagos Airport

Willie Obiano, the Anambra State Governor, has promised to ensure the law catches up with the killers of his 43-year-old Senior Special Assistant on Security, Azubuike Ekwegbalu.

This he made known, in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C-Don Adinuba.

Obiano vowed that the killers would not go unpunished.

The statement read in part, “Mr Ekwegbalu was a thorough, quiet, unassuming, energetic and dedicated security official whose forte was intelligence gathering.

He noted that in recent times the late aide had dedicated his infectious energy and acute professional intelligence to monitoring cults in various parts of the state following an increase in the menace of young cult members in educational institutions and elsewhere, adding that they have seen outstanding results.

He noted that Mr Ekwegbalu’s tragic death is a serious setback to the fight against the cult menace and crime generally in the state.

He then added that all hands are on deck to ensure the Anambra State Government work with the security agencies to apprehend those responsible for Mr Ekwegbalu’s death.

It was reported that Ekweabalu died when he was attacked by assailants on Sunday in his residence at the Commissioners’ Quarters, a high brow area for government officials in Awka, the state capital.

He was reportedly stabbed with a kitchen knife
