The Katsina State Police Command has announced that it has killed eight suspected bandits in Batsari Local Government Area of ​​Katsina State.

This was revealed on Saturday in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Gambo Isah. He said on August 6, a police team raided Zamfarawa village in Batsari Local Government Area, after receiving reports that more than 40 guerrillas attacked the village with AK 47 rifles.

The spokesman for the police said the terrorists shot a Shafi’i 65-year-old Suleiman and Jacob Idris 70 years, in addition to several cattle were abducted.

According to him, the terrorists ambushed the team on their way to the village, where they quickly responded to the attack and managed to kill one of the attackers.

He also said many escaped with gunshot wounds as reported by Premium Times. Mr. Isah added that the team also recovered about 30 cows stolen by the bandits from the village community.

He said the police team recovered 23,000 naira, ammunition, amulets and a pile of keys from the bodies of the terrorists.
