President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the Sokoto State Government and the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, for their commitment to improving security.
The Federal Government commended the Sultan and the Sokoto State Government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for their co-operation in its efforts to end insecurity in the country.
Buhari made the remarks on Saturday while attending the wedding of the Sultan’s daughter, Zainab Fodio, held at the Sultan’s palace in.
The Minister of Justice and Supreme Attorney-General, Abubakar Malami, led the delegation that represented President Buhari at the wedding.
The other members of the delegation included the Minister of Police , Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi and the Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu.
The President said Governor Tambuwal and the Sultan were committed to fighting the insurgency of terrorists such as the separatists and other insurgents.
There is no doubt that in the past, insecurity has intensified across the country, especially in the North East and North West.
