Alex Otti, Supporters Dump APGA For APC

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, during the 2019 election in Abia State, Alex Otti is set to join the All Progressives Congress.

The development was announced by the Caretaker Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, led by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni.

The defection plan was also revealed in a statement released by the Media Assistant to Otti, Ferdinand Ekeoma on Sunday in Umuahia.

Recall that Alex during a recent interview had announced his exit from APGA, he blamed his action of the factionalization and gross abuse of the foundational ideas and ethos of the party at the highest level.

The former governorship candidate also noted that he has registered in the APC at his ward, Ehi na Uguru Ward 5, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia state.

However, according to the statement, on Sunday, “The leadership of the APC at the highest level has promised to storm the state later for a special statewide reception for Dr Otti and other entrants joining with him after the COVID-19 pandemic must have reduced.”

“Otti, a first-class graduate of economics from University of Port Harcourt, was a renowned banker, who got to the peak of his career to become the MD/CEO of Diamond Bank, but voluntarily retired in 2014 and joined active politics in his native state of Abia, where he has steadily made huge impacts that have advanced democracy,” it concluded.
